A Home Inspector with the Experience You Need

My name is Craig Butler.

I am an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector and licensed NH home inspector (#468). I am fully covered with liability and errors & omissions insurance.

I grew up in a family of tradesmen. The love of home-construction was instilled in me at a young age.

My grandfather Butler owned/operated a plumbing and heating business. Before I had the chance to work for him, he passed the business to my dad. I spent much time, as a teenager and young man, working alongside my dad and learning the plumbing and heating trade. Alas, the trade did not appeal to me in the way carpentry did.

My grandfather Tilton, the key role model in my life, was a working, self employed, master carpenter until his mid 80’s! Talk about dedication and love for a trade! For most of his younger years he owned/operated a large carpentry business. I remember helping him with small jobs before I was a teenager and laying my first shingle roof, with him, at the age of 13 or 14. He taught me a strong work ethic, a love for building and an eye for detail.

I followed in his footsteps, and at the age of 25, I went to work for myself. Residential and light commercial construction and remodeling was the base for my construction company, BTR Builders, for the next 16 years. While still performing small carpentry jobs, my main role shifted from carpenter to inspector.

I saw a need for an inspector that had a hands-on background in residential construction. True knowledge of how a home is properly constructed from the ground up. Having dealt with all aspects of a home build, I feel truly comfortable inspecting them.
